  1. Speaking for others can be a weird scenario to get into. For example, even though YOU yourself at the moment thinks that what you're doing is right but to the other person that may not be what they had wanted. At the end of the day, the only shoes we can truly walk in is our own. We won't know how people actually feel until we truly ask them. I agree that it can be selfish with what Alcoff has to say because it does seem like the person speaking for the other person is just trying to seem like the one who correctly understands the truth when in reality that may not be the case at all.
