In Nelsen’s article “The World Traveling Self: Play as Context and Tool of Critical Literacy.”, she mentions that many people are required to follow a prescriptive "pace guide," which sets out the content and steps. Therefore, teaching strategies limit the game participation in classroom literacy learning. Students explore complex text practices to help them understand themselves and the world of social culture.

In my opinion, class should be listening, speaking, reading, writing and acting, singing, painting, doing and other forms of combination, let the students hands-on, brain, mouth, in line with their curiosity, love to move, flexible thinking characteristics, can let the students full of interest in homework. When I was in junior high school, I learned an article called Back, in which the author described the scene when he watched his father leave. Our teacher asked the students to write a letter to their father based on the inspiration of the author on his father's emotional expression in the text, and then hand it to his father. The assignment helps students to have a deeper understanding of the author's sincere feelings about his father and arouses students' enthusiasm and desire for learning. But, in my high school, even PPT rarely appeared in class, Play or Game is impossible. My classmates and I spent every day writing exercises and studying exam questions, not to mention games, which made me feel depressed. I even felt that time passed slowly, and I had no motivation to learn new knowledge.

Chinese students tend to spend time writing exercises and memorizing correct answers in order to get a high score on a test but forget them immediately after the test because we don't really learn that much. Creativity and critical thinking are not encouraged, students lack creativity and thinking, they are often guided to know the answer, instead of communication, interaction, independent thinking.
