Blog Post 10

 In this weeks article by McKinnon, the main focus was ethics in research. Specifically, the piece focuses on how research should aim to prevent anybody from being hurt during the process. More so, research is better if it is actually done honestly and in ways that benefit participants. In this way, ethics need to be taken into major consideration when engaging in research.

Reading this article reminded me a lot about a previous project that I did a few years ago. For one of my previous classes, I was required to participate in a research project. Before starting the project, I remember having to get IRB certification to approve the methodology to be ethical. I think that this is important for research to obtain ethical approval before beginning so that our current literature is valid, ethical and humane.
